VACATION TRIP TO DURANGO/SILVERTON
July 26, 2006  -- This past weekend Diane and I planned a long weekend in Vancouver for a get-away.  However, our flight there (where there was plenty of space available seats) got canceled so all the rest of the flights to Vancouver were totally jammed up.  So, instead, we took a car trip to Durango.

Since next week is our 40th anniversary (no gifts please) and we took the same car trip for our honeymoon 40 years ago, we thought it would be neat.  It was!  The Durango/Silverton area is beautiful. Rather than doing the round trip on the Durango/Silverton train, we took a bus up to Silverton, the rode the train back to Durango.  Very nice.  On the trip down we visited the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and coming back we included the Royal Gorge.  Real tourist stuff, but things we hadn't done in 40 years.

So, rather than trying to cover our trip on this website, I'm trying a new thing -- Shutterfly.com.  On this website I can post all the pictures of our trip and you can then view them.  Heck you can even buy a print if so inclined (Or so hope the Shutterfly folks.  But, don't feel compelled so do so.)

The best way to see all the pics is to just click on the link below.  This will open your browser and take you to our "Durango" album pics.  Then rather than clicking on each picture, click on "View As Slide Show" and enjoy the 48 pics with captions.
